Back to the ancient traditions as I came from behind to win Carcassonne! This game rules!
Show Manager is vaguely Traumfabrikesque, as we're each producing plays. It was pretty good.
Tichu continues its hegemony. Meanwhile the controversial Vino got played for the first time in a while. I want to play it again and was sorry to miss out on that.
Set is a Ricochet Robot type game where any number of players stare at a group of cards trying to identify sets quickly. William keeps pulling these "you'll like this game, Russ" shenanigans on me, and I resolve not to fall for it any more! If you like games where you're forced to react very quickly, then you may enjoy Set.
Meta Party Game ResultsI was the Meta Devil. I made a Meta Game awarding one point for each band and album title players could identify in this collage of art from some of my favorite CDs. No peeking through my collection allowed!The correct answers are:
Dan won by a large margin, scoring 13 points out of 22 for identifying Clandestine, Beatles, King Crimson, Genesis, Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, and the Doors (though he incorrectly identified the Doors album title as Jim Morrison's Rectal Itch). I was especially impressed he identified the smokey spotlights from Seconds Out. RussD got 4 points for Clandestine and Beatles. TimG got 3 points for Beatles and King Crimson (sans title). BobK got 2 points for Beatles. William got 1 point for Beatles (sans title) and many utterly surreal guesses such as Blind Melon, Blind Zombie, and L5. |
