We didn't have nearly as many costumes this year as last year, but there were some good ones. Dan made a great Saxon costume. People kept saying "Hey, you were a Viking last year, why are you a Viking again?" and he'd say "I'm a Saxon, not a Viking!" So later in the evening Whendy came in late and immediately said, "You're a Saxon," which made him happy. JeffF's costume is unfortunately messed up in the pictures -- his halo's not on straight. He was the Devil in disguise, of course. By curious coincidence, William had excellent angel wings. Old timers were delighted by Matt's costume which left newer RussCon folks scratching their heads in puzzlement. JimG was the most mysterious costume. He stuck numbers on everyone, and we all were baffled. Turns out he was Secret Agent Man (from a Johnny Rivers song). And I had an alien sock monkey bursting out of my chest! (Which was also the only costume at my office the next day.)
This weekend I sadly forgo the Houston Fall Go Tournament to do the Celtic Festival instead, which is Saturday and Sunday. Damn schedule conflicts!
And next Friday is the last Clandestine concert in Austin!

I hadn't played Cloud 9 in forever and it was fun to check it out again. After winning it, I proceeded to lose all my remaining games this evening.
Transamerica played quite differently with 4 players instead of 6, so that's cool. Definitely worth checking out. Very simple, elegant, and quick.
Dan brought Hive which is a 2-player pure strategy game I'd read great reviews of online. I didn't get a chance to play it, but I'm interested. It got played several times, so it seems to be interesting to RussCon folks.
A few Halloween games were played: Grusel Wusel (the pumpkin dice pattern matching game), Ghost Party, and Dungeon.
