Jeffles put in a surprise appearance, back from wandering around the country randomly, and ready for an evening of gaming and sleeping in my backyard.

There are still DaveB games for sale and Jeffles sf mags free for the taking.

Some of these games were horrific, the greatest being Arkham Horror (thanks, BobR). It is a game that is more complex and vaguely-ruled than it ought to be, but one can't help but like this eldritch classic in which often everyone loses. We actually managed to stave off the Lovecraftian horrors by closing all the gates to our world before we were doomed. Daniel was driven irrevocably insane by Cthulhu, however, and had to start a new character.

Old timers will of course remember the Lost Worlds combat duel books, which were based on the Ace of Aces system. Zack brought some since they have monsters!

hall of shameA reminder: please write and spell clearly when recording game results, make the scores and ranks clear, and remember last initials for people with common names, thanks! This week there was an ambiguous Mark (no pun intended); I guessed MarkY.

Thanks Daniel for a wacky fun meta game! Daniel reckoned the scores as follows:

Since I was the only one to do any sort of devilish costume, I begin to suspect that I compete harder than the average person in these Meta Games. But maybe that's just the horns talking. So once again I am the Meta Devil, and I will design next week's Meta Game.

Evening's Soundtrack

William pulled a Brady Maneuver: you must play more than one game to be Devil. So DaveB is the Devil! RussD is Vice-Devil. Steve is Vice-Vice-Devil. Then Marty.
