Lots of old favorites played tonight. Could it be unconscious retrospective nostalgia at this last RussCon of 2001? No, probably just coincidence.
And some recent games were played as well, e.g. I finally won Caesar & Cleopatra, by playing with Fina who'd never played before... Jeffles had beaten me handily twice a couple weeks ago. I had some good luck this game -- the votes came out at good times for me, unlike before when I kept drawing orgies when the influence favored me.
Meta Party GameClay was the Meta Devil. He didn't design a Meta Game, no doubt due to a holiday vacation. We were uninspired to create a Meta Game on the fly, so the evening was non-Meta. I will create one for next year! In fact, here it is, so you can plan ahead: White Elephant Gift Exchange |

Cerebus Creator Dave Sim's Latest Tirade On Gender On-Line!. This is a bizarrely fascinating essay from Cerebus #265, reproduced online at The Comics Journal. Having read the first collection of Cerebus (thanks Jeffles!), I'm even more interested in its controversial and seemingly insane creator.
Speaking of odd characters, Bobby Fischer speaks out to applaud Trade Centre attacks.

Kiseido Go Server (KGS) has a fun new feature. You can upload a picture of yourself (must be 141x200 jpg <7K in size) which will appear in your player info, and a small version appears next to your name on your game screen when you play. For now, I put up this lovely picture JP took of me at the Go Congress this year. I might change it if good sense prevails.
