Dan brought a goofy fun party game called Moods which required players to act and emote, and to intuit what the other players were communicating. Sadly, it turns out Whendy needs to practice her social interaction skills, since she did worse than a bunch of gamer geek boys!
The mood cards turned out to be inspiring of much silliness later.
JP & I played several more games of Cosmic Coasters. We randomly picked powers and got Teleport Inhibitor vs Warning System again, and again that game took a long time, just like last week. Something about that combination... we played 2 more games with other combinations which didn't drag on. Fun little game! Thanks again Jeffles for donating it to RussCon!
Black Box is the classic old 2 player game where one player secretly places marks on a square grid and the other player fires into the grid from the outside and is told where his shot emerges (after possibly bouncing around). Jeffles passed it along to Matt, I think, and I would be up for playing it next week.
5 games of Tichu this week! Tichu has now made it into the RussCon Top Ten Games list: it's the 8th most played game now! This is quite impressive considering how these records go back almost 4 years, but Tichu has only been around at RussCon since July (when it was introduced by Dan's visiting cohort Richard).
A reminder: please write and spell clearly when recording game results, make the scores and ranks clear, and remember last initials for people with common names, thanks! (Thanks BobK for emailing me corrections on last week's data where BobR was entered twice in The Book instead of BobK.)
Meta Party GameI was the Meta Devil. The Meta Game was simple, and inspired by our nasty cold front: predict when it would start raining/sleeting that night. Closest time wins. Here were the entries: 9:36:59 Jeffles 9:37 RussW (who picked a time before Jeffles and Daniel did) 9:37:01 Daniel 10:00:59 JP 10:01 Marty 10:11 Whendy 10:35 Clayton 11:00 JimG 12:59:01 Dan As it turns out, we noticed the precipitous precipitation at 10:47 (by the official clock) which gave Clayton the win (he said 10:35). JimG was also close with 11:00. So Clayton is the Meta Devil and will design next week's Meta Party Game. |
