NewsClandestine was good fun! Jen had a new solo CD (that included Clandestine members and other musicians). It's more mellow/folky than Celtic. And they announced they'll be recording a live Clandestine album at the Mucky Duck in Houston next month! |

6 Nimmt looks to be shaping into a RussCon hit! It's also fun that it accomodates up to 10 players. So check it out.
Quest on the other hand seemed not to be well-received. It's a Ravensburger game geared more toward kids apparently.
It was fun to play Manhattan again. The game has its detractors, but I've always found it quite enjoyable and interesting. And there is fun toy value in stacking up tall plastic skyscrapers!
Matt and I thought we might rack up some good Meta Points playing the 2-player classic Tayu, but we had an unusually low-scoring game, 15 to 6.
Meta Party Game ResultsMatt was the Meta Party Devil. Here is the Meta Party Game that he emailed out, no thanks to austin.rr email servers which didn't give it to me until Saturday! THE MOST POINTS METAGAMEMatt computed the scores: 244 Carly Carly is the Meta Party Devil! She will email out next week's Meta Party Game! If the pressure is too much for you, Carly, then I, as Vice-Meta Party Devil, will take on the burden of command for you. I suppose this makes Daniel the Meta Party Angel. |

This week's theme was intentionally more challenging since they've been getting a bit easy lately. These bands all appear on the most excellent soundtrack to David Lynch's Lost Highway (which was of course played last week). If Astronomer Mike had been here, he'd have figured it out, because Lost Highway is one of his all-time favorite films! God, he loves that movie!

Some fun photos by an Austin photographer Bob Sherman; you may have seen some in ads in the Austin Chronicle.
Austin comic artist Penny Van Horn does scratchboard, linoleum and woodblock art; you may have seen some in the Austin Chronicle.
Oh to be a rock star with more money than one knows what to do with! Korn frontman Jonathan Davis commissioned H.R. Giger to design a functional sculpture, a specially-designed, bio-mechanical mic stand cast in the shape of an exotic female.
