15 of us played 10 games! Welcome new guy ScottM, friend of Edro.

Next Wednesday I will not be here, but Clayton assures us that there will be SansRussCon while I am off doing my European Esperanto Extravaganza. I will see y'all in late August... after speaking Esperanto for five weeks! Perhaps JP will do the weekly Reports as he did last summer when I was traveling. Or perhaps he will not.

Castle was played a lot on Friday nights at Great Hall a very long time ago indeed, and I always wondered why no one ever brought it to RussCon. Tim brought it finally. He says it is from "the Alfred collection".

Again Ben bested me in the late night Boggle game, but at least I had the grim satisfaction of seeing Sarah come from behind and snatch victor from him!

Due to technical difficulties, the table of answers for Loaded Questions from last week actually appeared a day late, so Our Most Assiduous Reader may have missed them. I only mention this since it took a little while to type all that crap in, so I may as well make sure people actually see it.

Sarah is the Devil! Matt and Fina are Co-Vice-Devils! Marty is Vice-Vice-Devil.

If you are confused how the ratings work, you could peruse the FAQ.

I used GraphViz to generate the graph image.

Meta Game

Chad was the Meta Devil and created the following Meta Game:

Attendance has dropped significantly at Russcon for the summer... I hear this is normal... Who wants to be NORMAL?!?

ROUND 'EM UP!!!

The next metagame winner will be the person who inspires the most new or recently abscent people to come to next week's game.

Types of People:

Re-Aquaintence is a person who has been to Russcon at least once, but not in the last 3 months. RARE (Re-AquaintenceRussconEntry)

New Person who is a "gamer" by russcon definition (Chad will have final say if this is the case as Russ passed on being the judge saying "That could get pretty murky.") We will call them NPG

New Person who is NOT a "gamer" by russcon definition We will call them NPN

Scoring:

RARE = 5 Pts/ hr.
NPG's = 3 Pts / hr.
NPN's = 1 Pt/ hr.

*Any RARE entry MUST email Chad before 2 PM Wednesday, stating who inspired them to return, in order to be counted in the Meta Game.

** Please ONLY INVITE people who will mesh well in the Russcon group.

*** only people who participate in games will be scored (Chad is the final judge of participation)

**** The metagame will end at 11:00 PM and a new Meta Devil will be selected based on participation.

As I understand it, only Edro earned any Meta Points (for inspiring new guy ScottM to come), so Edro is the Meta Devil and will design next week's Meta Game! It is perhaps worth noting that JeffF returned after an absence of more then 3 months (in fact this was his first 2005 appearance, apparently) - but no one in particular got the credit for inspiring his return.
